Civiltech Engineering welcomes 3 new full-time staff members, hired this Spring:

Kenneth W. Hodgen, P.E., Project Engineer, began working here on May 11, 2009. Having earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering at University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign, Ken worked previously as Sr. Project Engineer/Project Manager at Wendler Engineering Services, Inc. in DeKalb. Prior to his experience at Wendler, he spent seven years in Wyoming working in both the public and private sector. He has experience working on small to multi-million dollar municipal, site and transportation planning and design projects. Ken is working in the Crystal Lake office.

Daniel L. Atkins, Structural Engineer, started at Civiltech on May 18, 2009. Dan earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois – Chicago. He interned at the Village of River Forest for two years, where he gained in experience in both design and construction inspection. While at UIC, he was extensively involved in Engineers Without Borders. Dan plans to attend UIC in the fall to begin coursework towards his M.S. in Structural Engineering.

Deborah E. Rooney began working as the Marketing Coordinator on April 27, 2009. Before joining Civiltech, she worked for seven years at Christopher B. Burke Engineering West, Ltd. in St. Charles, driving their marketing efforts and coordinating client & employee events, as well as handling new hire orientation. She planned their annual Kane County Cougars picnic and initiated a corporate food drive, which donated over 12,000 lbs. of food to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Before working with CBBEWL, she worked on marketing teams at Nextel Communications and Fort James Corporation. Deb earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees in French, Secondary, and Higher Education at Indiana University – Bloomington, IN.
