Civiltech wins 2007 APWA Chicago metro chapter Project of the Year Award
Itasca, IL -- March 16, 2007 -- Civiltech Engineering, Inc. was recognized by the Chicago Metro Chapter of APWA for the Rollins Road Extension Project, which won the Public Works Project of the Year Award in the Transportation $2 to $10 million project category. This improvement extended Rollins Road on a new alignment, from its ending at U.S. Route 45 to Illinois Route 132. The extension improved traffic safety and operation at two major intersections. This project was designed for the Lake County Division of Transportation.
Awards were presented at a special luncheon ceremony on March 8, 2007, at The Carlisle in Lombard, Illinois. With this win, the project has been forwarded to the American Public Works Association for national consideration. Awards are based on the relationship of the managing agency, engineer, and contractor, who work together, to complete projects for the betterment of the public.
