We are seeking qualified candidates to join our large team of engineers and technicians providing survey, design, and construction support services throughout the City of Chicago. The work will consist of on-site survey, CAD, grading design, ADA design, roadway design, and cost estimating for roadway and sidewalk improvements located throughout the City of Chicago. The candidate will receive training to develop the skills required to complete this work. This role will include a mix of office and field work.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-4 years of experience in roadway design or construction.
  • Experience developing and interpreting construction documents and site plans preferred.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently to effectively manage time and complete a daily list of projects.

Construction Inspector/Technician  Posted on 6/3/2019

We are seeking qualified candidates to join our large team of engineers and technicians providing survey, design, and construction support services throughout the City of Chicago. The work will consist of inspecting the construction of various roadway and sidewalk improvement projects throughout the City of Chicago. The work includes field survey, construction layout, inspection of material placement, measurement of quantities, and other tasks related to ensuring contractor construction is completed in compliance with plans, specifications, and standards. The candidate will be trained in the engineering and construction concepts required to complete this work independently.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor or Associate Degree in any technical field.
  • 0-6 years of experience in roadway design or construction.
  • Experience developing and interpreting construction documents and site plans strongly preferred.

Resident Engineer II  Posted on 12/6/2018

This position requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with a minimum of four years of experience. The preferred candidate will perform engineering and related duties associated with construction inspection/layout of roadway and bridge work on various municipal, highway agency, and private development projects. An understanding of the requirements of Phase III Engineering as they relate to the process of inspecting construction improvements to ensure contractor work is in compliance with contract plans, specifications, and applicable standards is required. An understanding of Microstation and other applicable engineering software is desirable. Candidates must have the ability to multi-task, communicate well, and problem solve.

Sr. Structural Engineer  Posted on 12/6/2018

This position requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering from an accredited 4-year college or university. M.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering is preferred. A minimum of 8+ years experience in the field of transportation related structures is required. Current Professional and Structural Engineering licensure is required.
           
The preferred candidate will be responsible for the design and detailing of transportation structures including highway and railroad bridges, retaining walls and box culverts under the supervision of the Director of Structural Design Services. Essential duties include the performance of structural inspections and the preparation of structural calculations, technical reports, contract plans and specifications, and construction cost estimates. Responsibilities will also include project management, as well as the preparation of professional service proposals and agreements. Prior CDOT, IDOT, Tollway design experience is desired. Fluency with Microstation and structural analysis software is required.

Engineer IV | Water Resources  Posted on 12/6/2018

This position requires a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in performing and coordinating engineering and related duties associated with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, designing, computing, plan development and technical reports for projects. Professional Engineering license with the State of Illinois is required. The candidate should have experience with CAD software (AutoCAD or Microstation). Experience with applicable hydrologic/hydraulic software packages (HEC-1, HEC-HMS, TR-20, TR-55, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, WSPRO, HEC-UNET and FEQ)  is strongly desired.
