Deerfield Parkway STP Improvement IL Rte 83 to Weiland Road

Improvements shall consist of reconstructing Deerfield Parkway east of IL Route 83, widening the intersection of Deerfield Parkway and Buffalo Grove Road, and the intersection of Deerfield Parkway and Highland Grove Drive concluding west of the intersection of Deerfield Parkway and Weiland Road. The work includes pavement removal and reconstructing a portland cement concrete pavement with combination concrete curb and gutter, an enclosed drainage system, as well as pavement marking, signing, a continuous highway lighting system, and landscape restoration. A new traffic signal will be installed at the Deerfield Parkway and Highland Grove Drive intersection, and at the intersection of Deerfield Parkway and Buffalo Grove´s Fire Station 26. There will be traffic signal improvements at the intersection of Deerfield Parkway and Buffalo Grove Road to include emergency vehicle pre-emption throughout with the traffic signals interconnected.

This project completes a corridor improvement program spearheaded by the Village of Buffalo Grove. It provides a 3.5 mile long, continuous, east-west thoroughfare between Illinois Route 83 and Illinois Route 21 implementing goals for traffic safety, roadway and intersection capacity, pedestrian safety, and an improved pavement structure.

This project also included Phase III Construction Engineering for the full concrete pavement reconstruction of Deerfield Parkway, the construction of a new storm sewer and multiple traffic signals, as well as sidewalk and landscaping improvements.

Civiltech provided full inspection, layout and project documentation using IDOT´s Illinois Construction Records System (ICORS). All project concerns and stakeholders were coordinated and updated through the weekly progress meetings administered by our Resident Engineer.
