Quentin Road - U.S. Route 12 to IL Route 22

Lake County Division of Transportation

This project consists of the widening and reconstruction of two miles of the existing two-lane Quentin Road within the existing corridor in the Villages of Lake Zurich and Kildeer in southern Lake County, Illinois. The improvement will include two through lanes in each direction, separated by a center median to allow for left turn channelization at intersections. In addition, pedestrian and bicycle accommodations will be provided.

Although the Phase I engineering was funded locally, Civiltech and the Lake County Division of Transportation worked with the Illinois Department of Transportation to follow Federal-aid guidelines in order to remain eligible for future Federal funds.

A Community Advisory Group (CAG) was formed to assist the project study group in developing a preferred improvement plan based on community interests and agency needs. Community Advisory Group members included area residents and representatives from various governmental agencies.
Due to highway noise impacts in the project corridor, an extensive public outreach program was conducted to educate and obtain input from affected property owners regarding implementation of noise walls.

An Environmental Assessment and a Combined Design Report were prepared for this project.
