Wise Road Improvement
Roselle Road to Plum Grove Road
Village of Schaumburg
This Federal-aid improvement consisted of reconstructing the existing pavement, which was in extremely poor condition, along Wise Road between Roselle Road and Plum Grove Road within the Village of Schaumburg. The alignment of an existing substandard s-curve was also improved. In addition, the intersection of Roselle Road and Wise Road, which experiences severe congestion many hours of the day and is considered to be a High Accident Location, was proposed to be widened to provide additional auxiliary lanes. Due to funding constraints, a two stage improvement plan was developed to implement this improvement. Stage I included the reconstruction of Wise Road from just west of Roselle Road to Plum Grove Road. Stage II involves widening and reconstructing the intersection of Wise Road with Roselle Road.
This project also included bikepath improvements, traffic signal modernization, roadway lighting, and landscaping enhancements. The Phase I Engineering services included traffic and accident analyses, geometric studies, Intersection Design Studies, drainage studies, cost estimates, as well as public involvement.
