Mary Young, P.E., PTOE

NEPA Practitioner

Mary is a NEPA Practitioner ​in Civiltech’s Environmental and Design Studies department. She has extensive experience in traffic and transportation engineering as well as environmental and location-design studies for projects ranging from simple intersection improvements to major roadway corridor projects. Mary has completed more than 50 Phase I engineering studies funded as part of the Surface Transportation Program. She also has had extensive training in the National Environmental Policy Act procedures and methodologies and is prequalified by IDOT to perform Environmental Impact Statements. Through her communication skills and extensive knowledge of the transportation planning and implementation process, she has created effective stakeholder involvement programs as part of the context sensitive design process.

Fun fact: Mary is skilled at coordinating all of the ingredients needed for large projects to be successful. In fact, every Christmas season, Mary bakes 60 dozen cookies of which her family and friends are lucky recipients!
